These days, our work routine has completely changed. A lot of communications are happening more digitally, and we work directly from home a lot. We actually have moved all stationery from our shop to our home so we could work more efficiently. Although our place is filled with stationery, it’s not a complete new change for us. When we first started doing pop up in 2017, we lived in a 400 square feet studio. Half of it was filled with stationery. Even after we opened our shop, and after we moved to just 10 blocks away from the shop, we...

A couple of weeks back, we began posting that our long-awaited Sailor Ink Studio inks had arrived and immediately, we started creating the ink guides for each of the 100 colors in the collection. For those who haven't heard of these inks, they have an interesting and unique history that we love. In 2005, Sailor began hosting ink-blending events all across Japan called Sailor Ink Studio events. At these events, their master ink blender, Osamu Ishimaru, who became iconic for his chosen costume of a cocktail bartender with black vest and bowtie, and signature ink-blending tool of a cocktail shaker,...

These Kuretake Karappo pens make writing with your favorite ink color a breeze! The pens were originally created to go with Kuretake's "Ink Cafe",  a set of customizable and mixable ink colors.  The tactile process of filling each pen with ink is both mesmerizing and fun. Have your favorite ink bottle at the ready, dip the provided core inside the ink, wait until the core soaks it all up (all while staring in awe at this relaxing and surprisingly quick process), plug the pen with the seal and your new Karappo pen is now ready to write! To keep track...

Lennon Tool Bar - 涌泉/yong quan. This special edition of Lennon Tool Bar comes in light clear blue, and is inspired by the blue color of medical masks and serves as a tribute to frontline workers. In late February/early March, the frontline medical workers of Taiwan were experiencing high stress as they were confronted with COVID-19. The timing of this might seem early to the US since many states, NYC included, didn't have stay-at-home orders in place until late March. Since that time, frontline workers all over the world have witnessed first hand the devastating toll of COVID-19, sacrificed and...

In June, we added lots of fun stationery and made some great updates to our website as we have more time to improve. We also chatted with April at the Stationery Cafe about stationery and life. If you haven't checked it out yet, take a listen! The last two weeks of June, we started doing curbside pickup, and this month we will continue to do curbside only. You might have already noticed the changes we made to our website. One of the fun thing you could do is for example, filter specific ink color under fountain pen ink collection. We also added a...

Today we are featuring Nakamura Printing x Kleid Flat Notes. Nakamura Printing is a family business started in 1938. Being in a declining industry, Nakamura Printing has been trying out different ways to create new notebooks. In 2014, they came up with a new way of notebook binding to allow every page of the notebook to open flat. Normally, to achieve opening completely flat, notebooks are made with multiples of tiny bundles of paper, which are also known as signatures. A standard signature represents large sheets of paper sewn together in 4, 8 or 16 sheets, folded in half as...

I'm surrounded by so much washi tape, both here at home and at Yoseka, that I wanted to learn all about its origins. I hope that this brief and fun history of washi makes you love and appreciate your rolls of washi tape just a little extra! Washi tape is a durable, tearable, waterproof, biodegradable, reusable, and colorful type...
