Happy September! New Arrivals and Updates From August
In August, we have been busy preparing for planner season, making a timeline for our move and adding lots of adorable new stationery. Pre-order links for many planners including Midori, Traveler's Notebook and Hightide are now up on the website and as of midnight tonight, Hobonichi planners will be up as well. We worked out a timeline of our move and have set mid-October as our tentative opening week and will continue to do curbside pickup at our current Sunnyside shop until the end of September. Stationery life and planning for the move
These last few months, we’ve limited to curbside pickup and moved most of the shop back to our dining room. It’s not new to have stationery everywhere in our home, but this is a different level. We’ve used up every possible corner 😂The center table is where all the magic happens — ink guide, packing, organizing and discussion. Yesterday, we talked about the plans for the upcoming months around this table. With the new location entering the final touch up stage next week, we drafted a moving plan which will take place over the next 6 weeks. With an adjustment...
Introducing Cozyca and Their Beautiful Artist Collaborations
Last week, we added some really sweet stationery by the Japanese stationery company Cozyca. Cozyca was started in 2013 by the well-established stationery company, Hyogensha, which had been founded in 1948. Cozyca was launched to promote the works of independent artists and inspire writers by making available beautiful stationery that depicts the view from different artists' worlds. Cozyca also has a store in Kyoto called Hiraeth that displays all the artist collaboration stationery designs they produce as well as exhibits different artists' works in their gallery on the top floor. We would love to visit their adorable shop and gallery one day! As...

A Very Full July: Reunions and Next for Yoseka
In July, we have some big updates and fun new arrivals. At the start of the month, we reunited with Soraya after a few months working remotely! As we navigated through this strange time in our own pace, we made a big decision on what's next for Yoseka. We signed a new lease in Greenpoint. We love the new shop, and are very excited to see what's coming next! This month, we will be busy planning for our new home as well as preparing for the upcoming planners in September. New planners we are adding include Hobonichi, Traveler's Notebook, Midori and...
Next for Yoseka
Next for Yoseka. Yes, we just signed the lease for our new place!Since quarantine started, we have had lots of time to think about the future for Yoseka — the shop, the team and plans to prepare for coming back. Our current space is small and cozy, with lots of pens on the table ready for trying. Being at the shop, trying things out is part of the Yoseka experience, accompanied by interactions with friends, family or with us. Covid-19 has challenged the way we set up our shop, which is all about experience and conversations in a small space. As many...
Yoseka Notebook Paper Q&A with Conifer
Yoseka Notebook was made in 2018, before we opened our shop. One big reason we decided to make the notebook is the paper. The paper used inside Yoseka Notebooks are different versions of KBU papers, developed by a Taiwanese notebook company called Conifer. When it comes to developing new stationery, the Taiwanese stationery companies are constantly under pressure from two neighboring countries — Japan and China, representing high quality and lower price respectively. Sandwiched in the middle, stationery made in Taiwan costs more than products from China, while at the same time being less recognized than products from Japan. In...
Introducing Yoseka Notebook Slim
Introducing Yoseka Notebook Slim. Many of you are familiar with our Yoseka Notebook, which started as a big project three years ago before we opened our shop, and it has been the main testing book at the center of our shop. Yoseka Notebooks come with exposed binding, quality paper and simple cover. They are simple, in the rawest and the most reduced form for a notebook. They are made for writing. This slim version comes with thinner cover and both blank and dot grid versions. Hope you guys like it!Yoseka Notebook Slim is a trimmed down version of our original Yoseka...
Planning for Our Next Step
These days, our work routine has completely changed. A lot of communications are happening more digitally, and we work directly from home a lot. We actually have moved all stationery from our shop to our home so we could work more efficiently. Although our place is filled with stationery, it’s not a complete new change for us. When we first started doing pop up in 2017, we lived in a 400 square feet studio. Half of it was filled with stationery. Even after we opened our shop, and after we moved to just 10 blocks away from the shop, we...
Some Sailor Ink Studio Favorites
A couple of weeks back, we began posting that our long-awaited Sailor Ink Studio inks had arrived and immediately, we started creating the ink guides for each of the 100 colors in the collection. For those who haven't heard of these inks, they have an interesting and unique history that we love. In 2005, Sailor began hosting ink-blending events all across Japan called Sailor Ink Studio events. At these events, their master ink blender, Osamu Ishimaru, who became iconic for his chosen costume of a cocktail bartender with black vest and bowtie, and signature ink-blending tool of a cocktail shaker,...
