Last year in 2018, MD Notebook celebrated their 10th anniversary with many special editions, and two special editions will be part of the permanent range in the future -- they are MD Notebook Journal - Frame and MD Notebook Journal - Dot Grid.

These notebooks now have 192 pages to fill with the story of your life – that’s a page a day for about half a year!

The Dot Grid notebooks comes with with two larger dots at the top showing where to write the date – all the structure of the ruled version but with more flexibility.

MD Notebook by Midori, a Japanese company that specializes in paper since 1960. Other than the small embossing of MD Paper, the notebook is simplistic and perhaps plain. Midori wants to emphasize the quality of the paper and your writing experience. The pen glides on the paper, and the paper does not bleed, ghost and feather. The touch and feel of the texture of the paper and the cover cannot convey through picture. We encourage you to come try them out in person with us.

    Lovely paper but very scratchy with fountain pen

    Bought this notebook to serve as my new 2021 bullet journal, but feel a little disappointed as it did not live up to the hype for me personally. The paper is a lovely weight, slight texture feels like high quality, mint-color dots are cute, overall binding is solid. The grid size is a bit tiny for me though, and forces me to write really small.

    I use a Pilot Metropolitan fountain pen with F-nib and Sailor Kiwaguro ink. Unfortunately the writing experience was not very pleasant for me – felt very scratchy and the ink did not flow easily. I found myself constantly having to reposition the pen tip as I was writing, which resulted in a less-than-ideal handwriting and is just generally distracting. There's no dramatic bleeding but ink does show through on the backside quite visibly.

    I'm bummed after reading so much great things about this paper, maybe it's better with other pen types. I may have to get a M size nib to try, but until then I'll probably have to just use gel pens or something else.
