On the cover, three lines are centered on the page for you to write the three subjects you'll be using the notebook for. Like many of Life's notebooks, Pocket Notes embrace American retro and these notebooks evoke a certain sense of grade-school nostalgia combined with the taste for finer paper you may now appreciate as an adult. Be aware of the paper

I have been a long time user of LIFE's notebooks but am disappointed by the paper they decide to use in this notebook. This is note the typical L writing paper. For inks that behave well on Midori, Life, and Maruman paper, you get terrible bleed through with this notebook, which makes it unusable with fountain pens.
