Lennon Tool Bar - Special Edition - 茉莉 Jasmine is one of three special edition inks created for their design exhibition this year.
In the past, Huatan Township in Changhua was known for its thriving jasmine industry. The blossoms were used to scent tea leaves, creating the beloved “fragrant teas” or "jasmine tea" cherished across Taiwan. This ink began with a serendipitous discovery that jasmine hydrosol is still being produced in Changhua today. Lennon Tool Bar began experimenting, blending this local distillate into their ink formula. Throughout the process, one question lingered: if fragrance could become color, what hue would jasmine take?
The result is Jasmine, an ink that captures the gentle radiance of the flower’s scent — calm, luminous, and quietly intoxicating.

About Lennon Tool Bar:
Lennon Tool Bar was founded in 2014 at Tamsui, Taiwan. Initially, it started to promote arts and crafts of Indigo Dyeing, a business that flourished a century ago in Taiwan, and at the time, Taiwan exported a considerable amount of "doroai," or the raw material of colorants used in Indigo Dyeing, to the Japanese Empire. Lennon Tool Bar draws inspiration from the traditional process and the popular colors used in Indigo Dyeing.
The jasmine distillate is a listed ingredient and the prospect of a jasmine scented ink from Changhua delighted me. I’m so pleased at how verryyy subtle the smell is. I can’t discern it in my pen or on the page, but I smell it from the bottle.
The color reminds me of other tea colored inks. Too light for fine or extra fibe. Probably alright in medium with a good set of eyes. I’m using it as an accent color.
Very surprised to have a package from Yoseka delivered so quickly after the holiday cutoff date. Thank you so much.
