Kuretake Karappo Pen was created to go with Kuretake's "Ink Cafe", a set of mixable basic ink colors that can be used to customize your own color. Each Karappo pen comes with an empty core. To use, simply dip the core inside your favorite ink color, wait until the ink soaks up the core, place the core inside the pen, plug the pen with the provided seal, and your Karappo Pen will now write with your favorite ink color!

Great idea

The idea to create your own pen with an ink that matches your fountain pen is amazing. I have quite a few bottles of fountain pen inks with the colors that I like and these pens gave them an additional life.

Brilliant Idea, Brilliant Product

This is an ingenious idea that is perfectly executed. I am able to pair these with my favorite fountain pen inks for very specific and unique colored felt pens. The end cap seals VERY well and there is practically no chance of leaking, but if necessary, it is possible to remove it again and get the felt piece, so very much an adaptable and reusable product. The nib is very smooth and they are a joy to write with. Overall the product just feels substantial and well designed, with a very smooth plastic body, nice cap, and I really like the little paper dot you color yourself; such a nice touch!
