The new Shachihata "Warabe" Mini Ink Pad comes in an easily portable size, along with the original oil-based pigment ink. The newly designed size also makes it easier for you to put on colors to a smaller or a more specific area on your stamp. The surface of the pad is designed to make full contact with a stamp. It produces a sharper and brighter result than a standard ink pad. It also dries fast and waterproof. The 29 colors in this series are originated from traditional Japanese colors. The plastic lid of this stamp pad is not attached, and the bottom of the pad is designed to be stackable for easy storage.
Truly, this is the best brand of inkpad I've come across, the pad material itself delivers the right amount of ink on your stamps so you can see every detail of it! Totally recommended!
Very nice ink- purchased for use on a large, detailed clear stamp. It applied a perfect amount of ink onto the stamp (harder stamp surface) that brought out the detail without accumulating in the small crevices (as opposed to the Versa Magic Dew Drop which is spongy and deposits a lot of ink causing loss of detail, if you are not careful). I purchased the "pine" and "konjyo" (dark/navy blue) - both beautiful, muted colors. I tried writing across the images with a Kuretake Zig double dot marker and Zebra Click art pens and there was no transfer of stamp ink to the felty tips even with the lightest of ink colors (such as baby pink). The colors I picked are not light enough to provide a "barely there" background (as Hobonichi grid patterns are) to then be able to journal over the stamp image and still be easily read, but still a great product and I will definitely be back for more colors. Plus the interlocking cubes are perfect for preserving our very precious storage space : )
I wasn't expecting the color of the ink to be so even but they work super well with my stamps and they aren't extremely wet like some other pads that can get ink on the edges. Theyre also a lot firmer than I expected, but that helped with making sure that the ink was on every spot I needed. Definitely recommend since they're easy to store and I can take one outside easily without losing bag space. 11/10
