The Pilot Vanishing Point Nib Unit - Black unit is ever the quality of those that arrive with the fountain pen.

I just never thought of a Capless style fountain pen having a Stub nib.

I truly enjoy the Stub nib

I am very pleased with this purchase.

I bought this nib unit to replace one that I damaged by dropping it. The original pen came from a different shop and the nib never really felt great, so maybe it was a blessing that I dropped the pen. My new nib from Yoseka is smooth and buttery like I would expect from a Pilot nib. One thing that was a little funny is that Yoseka shipped the nib in a re-used Kaweco box. At first I thought they sent the wrong thing, but I guess they just used the box for extra protection and cushioning. Anyway, three cheers for Yoseka!

I was hesitant to buy the VP stub nib at first, as I've read the many horror stories of baby's bottom with them, but Yoseka came through!
I asked them in the order notes if they'd check it with a loupe first, and they happily obliged and even let me know with a handwritten note in the package! I was pleasantly surprised to see not only did the check it for me, but they made sure it was packaged really nicely too! I won't lie, I was a little confused by the black kaweco carton that was in the mailer box at first, but was very glad they made the effort to toss the nib unit into some sort of box.
Also, while I purchased this item by itself, it was shipped in not a manilla bubble wrap envelope but an ACTUAL BOX! I was ecstatic it wasn't just a tosser mailer bag!!
Plus the handwritten memo with cute bonus stickers was the icing on the cake really
