Gave it to a friend as a thank you gift. Want to eventually introduce her to fountain pens so a refillable rollerball seemed like a good step. She likes it so far.

A Good Inexpensive Rollerball Pen

I like these rollerball pens and bought them for myself and two others.

I do recommend these rollerball pens.

They are not top shelf and they are not bottom shelf, just good for the price.

Cool concept, poor results

I bought two of these pens, and I really wanted to like them. Unfortunately, I've found both of them to be unusable. Not sure if it's the type of ink (both of which were medium-light Sailor inks-- perhaps a darker, wetter ink would do better?) or the design or both.

Something to note: This pen is technically refillable, but you can't change the ink color. The feed that connects to the cartridge has some sort of foam core, which absorbs the ink to pass it to the rollerball. After the ink is absorbed, it can't be flushed out completely like a plastic feed can. Once you pick your color, you're stuck with it.

I can't get these pens to write longer than a few seconds without skipping. That's if they write at all! I've stored them tip-down for days with little effect. After extended tip-down storage, I get a very dark line for about 2 inches, and then the color peters out to barely-there.

I have the brush pen from this series, which I LOVE. It's such a shame the rollerballs don't work.
