Pentel Kerry mechanical pencil. Kerry was first introduced in 1971 and named ‘万年CIL’ (Kerry). The term ‘万年’ implies fountain pen, and that’s what Pentel had in mind. SEED is an eraser company that originally started as a natural rubber company back in 1915. They discovered in 1956 that PVC works much better for eraser. Around that time, a typical eraser with natural material hardens over time, and becomes harder to erase. On the other hand, eraser made with PVC stays soft and unchanged for a long time. This week, we are adding Tombow 707 to our collection. This pen was designed in 1987 by Tombow, originally a pencil company. Their pencils and MONO erasers are probably one of the most recognizable products growing up in Asia. Few decades ago, they started branching out to different stationery categories, and today in America, they are more well known for their brush pens.
