Yesterday we had some special visitors from Japan. They are friends from Sailor. Some of them we have only chatted over emails, and some we just met for the first time. Every year, they plan a tourist trip to US and visit some stores between their stops. They were actually just on their way to the Mets game yesterday : ) Sailor is one our favorite pens, and this visit was really flattering. The president of Sailor is right in the middle, and we are so happy when our customer, a big Sailor fountain pen fan, was able to meet...

Rhodia was founded in Lyon, France in 1932 by two brothers, Henri and Robert Verilhac. It was one of the earliest notebooks to use thicker and fountain pen friendly paper. The paper is very smooth and easy to write on. The cover on top of the pad has three distinct lines and they are designed to perfectly fold the cover backward. The design of the notepad is simple and it hasn’t really changed much since the beginning. This iconic orange pad now comes in many different sizes and these days Rhodia has been making many other paper products with similar...

Happy Labor Day Weekend everybody! Since Daisy recently shared the planners she’s been using this year, I thought maybe I could share my planner routine with everyone too. This year, I have been using the Hobonichi Cousin to organize my monthly goals and daily todos. Hobonichi is known for its one day a page format, featuring weekly, monthly, yearly overviews. It’s dated with a strict but well thought out format. I’m more of a to-do type of planner. The daily pages have been helpful for me to break things down and to identify what’s achievable in a day. I used...

Classic Hi-Tec-C by Pilot and it’s 19 colors at Yoseka. Hi-Tec-C is a classic gel pen that goes way back to 1994. Before that in the 80s, Pilot came out with Hi-Tecpoint rollerball series with a special mechanism that locks a tiny metal rollerball securely at the top of it’s needle point pen tip. Hi-Tec-C is inspired by G series gel pen (which was probably to rival Signo), combining with the tip of Hi-Tecpoint.Growing up in Taiwan in the 90s, there were always two camps — either Hi-Tec-C or Uni-Ball Signo. Both brands are really smooth and can write really...
