Their Penco line was inspired by the popular BiC pens in America. Yes, they redesigned BiC pen and made it look trendy in Japan. After their BiC pen, Penco introduced other items that are also inspired by how Americans use stationery/accessories — such as these clipboards and clips in the photo.
