Tomorrow will be the last day we are here in Sunnyside to do curbside pickup from 2-5pm. These last two years, we have met some of the sweetest and most amazing people through the shop. We live just 10 blocks away from the shop in Sunnyside, and the shop has connected us to the neighborhood in ways we couldn’t have ever imagined. The workshops, conversations, gatherings we’ve hosted, and everyone we’ve met have filled up the space with lots of memories that we will cherish forever. There were ups and downs, and we enjoyed every moment.
Sunnyside is our home, and we spend time at the shop just like we would our own home. Everyday, we would chat with people just stumbled into our shop, and shared excitement about new stationery. Every Friday, we celebrated with Happy Hours, and every month, we hosted workshops to feature local artists and to meet people from the neighborhood.
Covid has changed the way our shop works, which has always been about the interactive and hands-on experience. We knew our shop was too small for social distancing, and our landlord even proposed a rent raise. When our lease ended in July, it felt like the perfect timing for a transition, but we are sad to say goodbye to this location that has meant so much to us and been the home for many of Yoseka’s firsts.
Thank you to everyone who has visited us these past two years and has created wonderful memories, and special thanks to all of you who we are so lucky to call friends. You make us believe, and your friendship and support for our stationery mission is what ultimately helped us to make up our decision about this new location. Greenpoint will be a bigger new home and we are looking forward to starting our next chapter ❤️
