Gena is a full-time nibmeister living in Los Angeles with their partner Kyle and two cats. Gena trained with nibmeister John Mottishaw for the better part of four years, where they learned tuning, nib customization, and vintage pen repair. They have traveled to Japan and visited with Pilot, Namiki, Platinum, Nakaya, and Sailor, and they have participated in Maki-e, gold leaf, and nib tuning workshops there.
