About TWSBI:
TWSBI 三文堂 (San Wen Tong) is one of our earliest collection even before the store. TWSBI started as an OEM manufacturer for different western brands, and around 2009, they decided to start their own brand. With 50 years of experience in pen making, they took to fountain pen forums and gather users’ feedback. It was said that Pelican M800 was the model they were inspired. Most of their pens are transparent, so it’s really fun to see the ink color and it lasts for a very long time.
The name 三文堂 (San Wen Tong) comes from the Hall of the Three Rare Treasures, created by Emperor Qianlong as a memorial to three great masterpieces of Chinese calligraphy. The initials of the name “San Wen Tong” was reversed and thus turned into "TWS". The last letters "Bi" was added with its literal meaning of "writing instruments" in Chinese. Thus combining the two segments, creating TWSBI.
I've wanted this particular limited edition of the Eco for a long time, and finally buying it made my day. :-) Yoseka shipped it quickly; I appreciate that. The pen writes smoothly, and the rose gold trim against the snow white furniture is just so dang elegant. For those OCD types like me that have to match their pens with an ink of the same color, but who realize there's not a lot in the way of white inks out there, I decided that it pairs well with a nice cheerful orange or red-orange ink like Diamine Autumn Oak. I'm really happy with this thing. :-)
I’m disappointed. Neither of my TWSBI pen caps will post to this pen and the difference between my medium nib and extra fine nib are barely noticeable. I find the flow too wet for my small type. I believe I can use this for drawing super bold lines, but I won’t be able to use this as my everyday pen as intended. I will keep it because I still enjoy the feel of it in my hands, but I don’t think I will get another TWSBI.
I love the aesthetics of this pen it is absolutely breathtaking! I love the feeling when writing with this and it is one of my go to pens! Thank you Yoseka!!
