The pen is absolutely fantastic, TTLB makes high-quality products & this is no exception.
I purchased this in Dark Red, which has an uruish-like look to it. A very classy pen.
Being an enamel-over-brass pen, I was apprehensive about its survival in the rough & tumble life of my bag (in a pen case) but after about 5 months or so of use, it looks like the day it arrived!
The craft is excellent; the enamel coating is exceptional, the threads superb; all-around high quality. No dings or scratches on the body. Disassembly is easy, making maintenance quick; cleaning is a breeze. The nib is plated steel w/ iridium tipping & shows no signs of discoloration after daily use. Fitted with a secure snap-cap, with an addictive CLICK! The cap has a great seal, & starts up after stretches of inactivity, no hard starts. The pen feels wonderful in my hand & I've had no issues with writing for long sessions.
The nib is a tiny bit wet for a nib but is a non-issue & doesn't affect line quality, no feathering. The nib is a true . Writing is smooth, no burps, dry starts, or scratchiness. Some pleasant feedback, similar to a Kaweco or TWSBI . The FP is easy to hold but the grip might be narrow for some–not quite Liliput-narrow but similar. Despite its slim build, it holds international standard items.
I absolutely adore this pen, TTLB has made a superior pen at an accessible cost; this looks & writes higher than its price point.
A wonderful pen that shouldn't be overlooked.
