Tombow FUMI Mechanical Pencil ‑ 0.5mm
This mechanical pencil features a barrel made from NAGORI®, a composite material derived from minerals extracted from seawater and developed by Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. As the first mechanical pencil in the industry to incorporate this material, it offers a ceramic-like texture reminiscent of unglazed pottery or natural stone. The material’s high thermal conductivity helps disperse heat from your hand, keeping the grip cool and comfortable during extended writing. Fine irregularities across the surface also help prevent slipping, providing a secure and natural hold.
Designed for balance and control, the gently tapered barrel and low center of gravity create a stable writing experience, supported by a metal tip that helps guide the pencil smoothly across the page. Finished in calm, nature-inspired tones, each piece features a subtle marbled pattern formed during the molding process, giving every pencil a uniquely organic appearance.

About Tombow:
Tombow Pencil Co., Ltd. was established in Japan in 1913 as a manufacturer of wood-cased lead and colored pencils. It is not an exaggeration to say that every student in Japan has grown up with the Tombow pencil.
During the past four decades, Tombow has diversified its manufacturing program to include ballpoint pens, roller ball pens, markers, correction tape, glue sticks, liquid glues, adhesive tape, and dry highlighters. Today, Tombow has achieved an outstanding reputation for its unique, innovative and original products.
The Nagori material stays cool to the touch and feels very smooth but not slippery. I also like the silver/white flecks on the dark blue body. Yoseka has a great selection of mechanical pencils.
