Takeo Paper Products - Mottainai Memo - Iwahada
"Mottainai" originally means "what a waste!" in Japanese, but soon became a popular expression reminding people to cherish and upcycle natural resources or products before they go to waste. The Mottainai Memo is inspired by this concept, and with that in mind, a collection of discontinued but beautifully produced paper had then been curated by Takeo Paper Products. Each memo block contains three types of fine paper, and is being produced in limited quantities due to their availability on the market.
The Iwahada paper was released in 1991. It was inspired by the natural beauty of the rock surfaces visible at the bottom of a river. The collection includes three variations: Sometsuke, a soft indigo shade inspired by traditional dyed porcelain; Hakuji, a pure white reminiscent of white porcelain; and Bizen, a warm, earthy tone named after Bizen ware pottery.
