Originally released in 1978, Platinum 3776, is one of Platinum's iconic pen series and over the years, Platinum has added many colors as well as limited and special editions to the 3776 line. 3776 stands for the height of Mount Fuji, the highest mountain and when it was first released in 1978, it was awarded the "Good Design Prize" by the Japanese government. In 2011, the "Century 3776" series was released in honor of the approaching 100th anniversary of Platinum and was designed to maintain the quality standards defined by the original 3776 combined with the needs of a modern fountain pen user: new sleek design, comfortable writing balance, and smooth flow. Century 3776 employs Platinum's own "Slip and Seal Mechanism" that employs a spring in the cap to force an air tight closure around the nib, thus preventing ink from drying out in this fountain pen for up to a year.

To celebrate the release of Platinum Penʼs flagship model, the #3776 CENTURY, a series of fountain pens called Fuji Five Lakes was created from 2011 to 2016, followed by the Fuji Shunkei series from 2017 to 2021, which showcased the beautiful seasonal scenes of Mt. Fuji on the body of the pens using an advanced cutting technique. And now in 2023, a new series is being introduced: Fuji Unkei. The second pen in this series, Kasumi draws inspiration from the tranquil mist that often blankets Mt. Fuji's slopes. The cap and grip section, finished in a soothing shade of green, evoke the lush vegetation found at the mountain's base.

The barrel of the Kasumi showcases an intricate engraving of the Kasumi-Mon, a traditional Japanese pattern which represents swirling mist. This captivating design, achieved through a series of meticulously connected circular cuts transforms the pen into a miniature work of art.

Accompanying the Kasumi pen is a 20ml bottle of specially formulated Fuji-No-Akatsuki ink. Inspired by the breathtaking hues of Mt. Fuji at dawn, this ink boasts a deep green sheen under certain lighting, reminiscent of the ever-changing colors of the surrounding landscape as the sun rises.
