Pilot Prera Fountain Pen - Dark Turquoise
Pilot Prera is a fountain pen with a clean and straightforward design that writes beautifully. Measuring in at 4.7 inches (12 cm) capped and 5.3 inches (13.4 cm) with the cap removed and posted to the back of the pen, it is an impressively comfortable length whether you are writing a quick note in your planner or sitting down to write a longer journal entry or letter. The pen clip is sturdy and clips the pen tightly with a secure hold onto your pocket or notebook. The snap cap has a satisfying click as you are capping the pen and a vacuum seal prevents your nib from drying out between uses. The nib is firm and offers a very smooth writing experience with consistent ink flow without having to press down on the paper at all. Like most Pilot pens, the nibs are on the finer side, which make them perfect if you have smaller handwriting.

This is the second Pilot Prera I have purchased, the other being a 1.1mm stub demonstrator, and have found both to perform well above what I would expect for their price point. I especially like this Prera medium nib as a note-taking pen, because of its easy on-off magnetic cap (much faster than a screw-on). Lately though I have been using it for extended writing sessions, and enjoy it immensely. I have found that it performs equally well with a variety of ink brands, including a few different Herbin shimmery inks.
If you are looking for your first fountain pen, this is an excellent choice. If you're already an enthusiast, this is a great pen to have in your collection. I have not tried the fine nib option, but the medium puts down a line similar to what I would expect from a German fine nib. I also find that the medium nib, as well as the stub, has a tiny bit of flex to it that allows for some fun line variation.
All in all, great pen. Highly recommend.
