Pilot Custom 74 - Lavender Fog - US Exclusive
This serene, opaque lavender barrel with silver trim evokes the quiet stillness of morning mist, bringing softness, clarity, and calm intention to every writer's hand. The Lavender Fog is unique due to its opaque barrel, making it one of the few in the Custom 74 lineup. Available in rarer nib sizes such as Soft Fine, Soft Fine Medium, Soft Medium, and Double Broad, these expressive nibs offer enhanced line variation and a wider range of expression on the Custom 74.

This cost quite a lot compared to the Pilot Custom 74 I have already, but I really love the color so I couldn't pass this up. It writes just as well as my other Pilots, and I love the pastel color of the pen. I hope there are other colors of the Pilot Customs in the future.
I have an obsession with Lavender, love a London Fog, and I haven’t met a Pilot nib I didn’t like. This was always going to be a slam dunk for me, but it lived up to expectations.
The color is really pretty in person. I’d say it’s slightly less saturated and more muted in person, as well as a little lighter in color. I’m very happy with how it looks, but if you want something that screams purple, this isn’t it.
The soft nib is definitely soft and not flexy, so don’t expect to do copperplate calligraphy with it. Where it excels is if you want to be able to write normally, but maybe emphasize with a juicier line once in a while for titles by adding a bit more pressure and getting a wetter flow. The video Yoseka did about all the Pilot nib options does a great job showing exactly what the writing experience is.
