The Pentel Multi 8 Mechanical Pencil Set is a holder-style pencil that switches between eight colored leads with a twist of the knob. The colors include Diazo Non-Copy, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, PPC Non-Copy, Blue, and Brown.

Diazo Non-Copy lead stays invisible when reproduced by whiteprint (wet process) copy machines, while PPC Non-Copy lead won’t appear on xerographic (dry process) copies used by modern copiers.

To refill the pencil, turn the top knob until the silver line aligns with the black arrow on the clip—this unlocks the lead chamber. While holding down the top button, insert the new lead through the tip. After the lead is in place, twist the knob again to move the silver line away from the arrow, ensuring the holder grips the lead securely at the metal end. This simple mechanism makes switching and refilling leads quick and efficient.
