Jetstream is one of the smoothest writing ballpoint pen you can find. Typically a ballpoint pen with oil-based ink takes a little more force to kick start the pen, but it’s not the case for Jetstream. The ink is really easy to start, and it also dries fast just like a regular ballpoint pen. The ink was first developed in 2003, and the first Jetstream pen came out in 2008. In the photo here are Jetstream Prime. They came out with this version just last year among other 20 plus existing versions of Jetstream in varies designs. Prime is metallic and has a more serious but simpler look, which we like. You twist the pen to start the pen. You might be wondering why this pen is special. Well… the twist mechanism in Prime is made possible by their new refill, which is Parker-style. The common Jetstram refills are in plastic, but this new refill is metallic and is compatible with many more serious pens. Prime is their first pen to equip with this refill. They didn’t really announce much about this edition, but it’s a pretty special and humble milestone on their 10th year anniversary.
Went to the store the first weekend (Saturday Jan 3 at 2 pm) and waited in line outside the store in freezing temps just to enter the store. I have been following your store for a little over a year now and have used your information to build my stationery collection. I was looking forward to actually seeing the store for the very first time.
I expected the crowd and the line and didn't mind the wait in the cold (I came prepared). So when I walked into the store, Inwas supervised to see your inventory. It was disappointing to see how messy the shelves were and how little of everything there was. I spent about 45 mins looking at things that I wanted but most of them were dog eared, not in great shape from being handled so much by the crowd.
At the pen stand, I tested a few pens that I had my eye on, one of which was the Jetstream. There was no tester for the actual pen I ended up getting though I had my eye on another Jetstream Prome that was a ballpoint pen knock model. I settled for this pen -- which I expected to be great since it was $30 plus tax.
I got home and tried it and the ink skipped a lot -- and it seems like the ink refill in the pen was old and dry. Disappointing.
I asked for help from your staff -- 4 different people -- who seemed overwhelmed and not in the greatest of moods to share information. Someone was filming that day and seems to be in the way, and your staff was just inhospitable and quite curt and dismissive. They didn't even thank me after I spent almost $200 on items I managed to scrounge around for myself.
Just so disappointing all around. Maybe it's true what they say -- don't meet your heroes.
Hope you are able to do better next time.
It's a nice hefty pen. It writes well. Seems durable.
