This ink was inspired by the Pingtung Clematis plant. The climber is native to Hengchun Peninsula of southern Taiwan, living by the sunny places or forest margins. It produces glamourous pale pink flower with fleshy blue filaments in early spring.

Ink Institute is a line of inks made by the Taiwanese stationery store, Juspirit in Taipei. They produce inks that are easy to clean and beautiful on paper. We love their ink collections which include a tribute to the Taipei Metro subway line, Exotic Plants and the super fun Cat Daily collection.
The ink blot on this ink bottle is a pretty accurate description of this ink’s behaviour. No sheen, and shades an intense dark purple and indigo. I was trying to tease out the pale pink the manufacturer claims (about the flower and I suppose, the ink as well) on TR68 and Midori Cotton paper with a Montblanc Italic Edge “fat nib”. Your fattest BBBB is certainly needed to bring the best out from this ink. Surprisingly, the closest comparison ink is a Kyo no Oto Ruri-Iro (without the shimmer)
