This cover features a bright, crayon-drawn flower by printmaker and artist Makoto Matsubayashi on a cheerful pink background. The playful strokes bring a sense of warmth and joy. One of the two bookmark charms is also a flower, designed by Matsubayashi to match the cover. “Butterfly stopper” pen holders double as a clasp to keep the cover securely closed.
It will comfortably fit A5 notebooks with a spine up to 0.5 inches (1.27 cm). While it can accommodate slightly larger spines, the fit may be tighter. Add a clear Hobonichi Cover on Cover to protect it from wear and tear, and to provide extra space for storing photos, stickers, and postcards.

About Makoto Matsubayashi:
Makoto Matsubayashi, born in Kochi City in 1962, is a printmaker and artist. After studying at Sokei Academy of Fine Art & Design, he began his career in Kochi in 1991. He won the grand prize for “The Choice” in 1995, spent a year at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris in 2000, and created artwork for the 7days Hotel in 2003. He now regularly exhibits in galleries and museums across Japan and in Taipei.
