A classic black cow leather cover with a smooth texture and soft feel. Created in collaboration with graphic designer Taku Sato, who directs the design of the Hobonichi Techo. It features "butterfly stopper" pen holders that also function as a clasp to keep the cover securely closed.

This Original cover will comfortably fit A6 notebooks with a spine of 0.5 inches (1.27cm) or smaller. Though it has the capacity to fit spines larger than 0.5in, the cover might have a tighter fit. 

Please note: A6 and A5 covers in the 2026 April Start lineup are sold exclusively as sets with matching planner books and are offered only in the Japanese edition.

About Taku Satoh
Taku Satoh is a graphic designer who graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts in 1979 with a degree in design and completed his master’s degree in 1981. He began his career at Dentsu, Inc. before establishing the Taku Satoh Design Office in 1984. He has created product designs and branding for Oishii Gyunyu milk, Lotte XYLITOL gum, and many other products.

He is currently active across a wide range of projects, including serving as general director for NHK Educational TV’s Design-Ah series and art director for Nihongo de Asobo. He also serves as director of the design museum 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT in Tokyo.
