Yoseka and Fine Writing International have come together to celebrate the Lunar Year with the Year of the Dragon Fountain Pen. Yoseka first began carrying Fine Writing International back in 2019 with the Bronze Age Series. It only felt right to revive the first model that we fell in love with to create this limited edition fountain pen.
2024 is the Year of the Wood Dragon, and this pen's engravings, designed by Yoseka Team Member, includes many aspects of the dragon. The brass faceted cap features an engraving of a wood dragon with two dragon scale markers above it and four dragon scale markers below it to signify the year '24. In the Chinese Zodiac, the Dragon is considered both a strong and charitable animal because it gave up on winning the emperor's race in order to help others with its power over the wind. The finial has an engraving of two wood dragons breathing air to represent both this kindness and the collaboration between Yoseka and FWI. The brass end cap features an engraving of dragon scales, and can be twisted off to reveal the pump filling mechanism.
Originally released in April 2023, Fine Writing International's Scepter Fountain Pen featured a vacuum filling mechanism inspired by the classic 1930 Parker vacuum model fountain pen. By combining modern materials with the vintage filling mechanism of an iconic classical fountain pen, FWI's vacuum filler fountain pen can hold a large capacity of ink in its double-walled crack-proof barrel.
To fill, simply unscrew the back cap, submerge the nib in your ink bottle or inkwell, and push down the pump. The pen may need a few pumps to fill completely.

About Fine Writing International:
Fine Writing International is a Taiwanese stationery store and company that started in 2011. They take special requests to custom make beautiful pens and they also produce their own series of pens. They are best known for their pens that can be used either with converter or as an eyedropper interchangeably, but they continue to experiment with innovative materials and different fountain pen filling mechanisms in their mission to produce pens and writing instruments that are high quality while connecting natural materials with craftsmanship.
This pen is beautifully designed and has a lovely weight to it. I prefer more heft to my pen so it's very comfortable to write with and the Jowo nib is super smooth. It was my first "pricy" pen above $100 and I don't regret buying it but I have definitely learned that I find vacuum filler pens to be somewhat a pain to clean. It will probably remain my only vacuum filler pen but I'm glad it's this one.
Also Yoseka staff were so nice and polite in my early email correspondences with them asking questions about the pen. Will def keep buying from this shop in the future!
This was even better than I expected. It’s a beautiful pen that feels substantial. I wanted a vacuum fill and this one is perfect.
Lovely design, filling mechanism works very well, and I love that the nib is a Jowo #6 to easily swap it out to other #6 nibs I have. I inked the pen with LTB Firmament (a pigment ink), and so far the cap seal is also fantastic and immediately writes even without using it for several days.
Beautiful big pen! Has quickly become one of my favorite fountain pen.
This pen is beautiful and a masterpiece. Before ordering it I was initially worried about the balance, but now that I have it it is perfectly balanced and not a problem to write with.
