Duo Affogato is bringing their Music in a Word series to Yoseka Land for a night of live classical music and creative journaling, with the theme being "dreams". In Music in a Word: Dreams, audience members are invited to journal in response to the theme during the performance and accompanying activities, creating opportunities for personal reflection and deeper engagement with the music.
Duo Affogato’s Music in a Word series explores individual words as musical experiences. Each program is centered on a single word, bringing together works that explore how a particular quality can be expressed through sound. Rather than defining the word as a fixed concept, the music reveals its many dimensions, offering different perspectives as the performance unfolds.
- What to expect: Audience members are invited to journal in response to the music and accompanying prompts throughout the performance and related activities, creating space for personal reflection and creative interpretation. We invite everyone to bring their own journals and notebooks, or use the variety of themed stationery provided by Yoseka.

About Duo Affogato
Duo Affogato is a New York-based cello and piano duo formed by Jocelyn Lee and Pin-hui Tsai, who have performed together since 2022. United by a mission to make classical music more approachable and engaging, they present performances in nontraditional venues such as coffee shops, hostels, and restaurants, transforming everyday spaces into intimate concert experiences. Through curating programs centered on storytelling and audience interaction—including “Classically Unlocked!”, “Love in 5 Ways,” and “Duo Affogato Letters”— they exemplify their philosophy of making classical music an accessible, emotional experience while reimagining traditional concert norms.
