The Caran d'Ache Swiss Wood Pencil is made of “Swiss Certified” Grovelier beech wood from the Jura forests of Switzerland. The darkened, high-quality beech wood provides an elegant and classic touch to the uniqueness of this pencil. This pencil also releases a natural, smoky scent that is reminiscent of nutmeg and moss. The graphite lead of this pencil comes in HB and grants a smooth writing experience.

Founded in 1915 in Geneva, Caran d'Ache was originally known as Fabrique Genevoise de Crayons, but it was rebranded to Caran d'Ache, which means pencil in Russian, in 1924.
