The ECO is the most affordable model yet from TWSBI. This pen features a piston mechanism, a clear barrel, clear cap and piston knob. The nib is smooth with a little feedback. The barrel is clear and smooth, which has lesser grip than a typical pen. Overall, it feels great holding in hand.

About TWSBI:
TWSBI 三文堂 (San Wen Tong) is one of our earliest collection even before the store. TWSBI started as an OEM manufacturer for different western brands, and around 2009, they decided to start their own brand. With 50 years of experience in pen making, they took to fountain pen forums and gather users’ feedback. It was said that Pelican M800 was the model they were inspired. Most of their pens are transparent, so it’s really fun to see the ink color and it lasts for a very long time.
The name 三文堂 (San Wen Tong) comes from the Hall of the Three Rare Treasures, created by Emperor Qianlong as a memorial to three great masterpieces of Chinese calligraphy. The initials of the name “San Wen Tong” was reversed and thus turned into "TWS". The last letters "Bi" was added with its literal meaning of "writing instruments" in Chinese. Thus combining the two segments, creating TWSBI.
Package arrived sooner than expected, packed with care. The pen and inks are beautiful and write splendid.
I've been collecting TWSBI fountain pens and noticed that sometimes the EF nib writes more like a medium. Unfortunately, that's the case with this one. Look-wise, the pen is stunning.
This pen is beautiful; I love the variation in material and how the bronze plays up that combination. My favorite TWSBI purchase yet! Also, TWSBI is always a reliable writer and a brand that I can trust. I'm hard on my pens, they are for daily use, and TWSBI's are just right for the job while still looking stunning!
This is my first special trim eco and I don't regret the extra cost relative to the regular ecos. The resin is more subtle than I initially anticipated but it fits the Serpentine vibe and the bronze trim is beautiful. If I had to choose again I would still buy it. I love the way Ecos write and the color works well with the shades of inks I am drawn to.
