A great way to test inks without fully inking up a pen.

I love these dip pens, it’s great if you’re testing or swatching your new ink…I have also used this for journaling and writing little notes.

Smooth like butter, convenient as all heck

What fun! I bought the fude and a fine tip. I'm used to a fude nib as I have the Profit and the Sailor De Mannen fountain pens (in 40 and 55 degrees). But as I only use them for art, with wet media, my chosen ink must always be waterproof... and even the most well behaved waterproof fountain pen ink can clog a pen or feel really dried out/scratchy if not used on a super regular basis. A dip pen offers much more freedom but I had yet to find a nib, at an affordable price, that didn't need near constant re-dipping. The Hocoro changes all that! Because of the feed, with the fude I can literally draw/write 3x as long as before. It's so simple to clean, so painless to safely store away, and, like any dip pen, I can switch between ink colors with ease. I think this fude nib may be the same nib as on the 40 degree de Mannen (it certainly looks the same) and most sketchers knows how fun it is to use these bent nibs. The only slight negative I can think of is that it's a really small pen-- both in diameter and in length: it's dinky. I have petite hands so it's fine for me, but some folks may find it undersized for lengthy use. Otherwise, the price point is more than fair and I LOVE you can merely buy a feed and another nib without having to also buy the entire pen again. I am eyeballing the Kakimori brass nib for a future purchase, but for an 'everyday' dip pen you can rely on, flows beautifully, and doesn't have to be babied? Well, I don't see how it gets better than this.
