Lennon Tool Bar - 2021 Winter Limited - 枸杞 Wolfberry. The orange-red wolfberries (also known as goji berries) in hot pots always bring us warmth in winter. It is the essential ingredient for winter tonics. People often add wolfberries in their Chinese herb hot pots.
The 2021 Winter Limited series is called Winter Tonics in Taiwan. As the northeast monsoon approaches, all kinds of cold-proof wear and gadget have come out on the market. Thermal underwear, hand warmers, down jackets, beanies, gloves, socks are prepared for the next wave of cold air from the north. But you might not know that there's an ultimate cold-proof weapon that will for sure heat the winter up and keep you warm! Enjoying winter stews or soups is one of the most traditional and effective cold-proof strategies by the Taiwanese people. After stir-frying sliced ginger and chicken on high heat, you add rice wine into the pot and stew it. You might also want to add some wolfberries to mellow the flavor. Make sure you put in the cabbage right before you serve the dish. You will definitely enjoy the warm winter when you take a bite of the crunchy cabbage and sip on the warm, sweet soup!
This ink is a red-orange inspired by wolfberries and their many health benefits.

About Lennon Tool Bar:
Lennon Tool Bar was founded in 2014 at Tamsui, Taiwan. Initially, it started to promote arts and crafts of Indigo Dyeing, a business that flourished a century ago in Taiwan, and at the time, Taiwan exported a considerable amount of "doroai," or the raw material of colorants used in Indigo Dyeing, to the Japanese Empire. Lennon Tool Bar draws inspiration from the traditional process and the popular colors used in Indigo Dyeing.
What an incredible surprise this ink is! I knew it would be good, as I’ve enjoyed LTB inks for a while now. But this has totally captured my heart.
It has perfect flow, to start with. And the color? The other reviewer said it best. It’s neither too red nor too brown, it’s a unique color all it’s own. I would say it is similar to Diamine Ancient Copper but still different from that.
I have an ink collection larger than any sane person should ever have and this one shot up into the top 5 over the last month that I’ve used it! Cannot recommend enough!
I love this ink. It is not too red and not too brown. I found myself reaching for my Lamy Safari (m nib). This ink is well-behaved. Hardly detected any feathering in cheap notebook paper but in my Hobonichi- WOW! And on a sentimental note, this ink brings back wonderful memories of the times I spent preparing nourishing soups with wolfberry and other herbs with my Ah-Mah (grandmother). Can’t wait to check out the other Winter Tonic series.
