I recently got into fountain pens. Had one when I was a kid and remember how fascinated I was by this seemingly simple tech. This nib is a steel 1.5mm nib. It has the usual Lamy quality for the price point. I bought it to try something other than standard writing fine point nibs. An experiment. It's smooth. Ink flows well once you get it started. I'm fascinated my calligraphy. Right I might try imitating writing samples. It's hard. I may need lessons. But I'm starting to see more variation in my lines as I write with it. You need practice or you just end up writing words that look like you're using a marker. But I'm fascinated enough I may get the 1.1 and 1.9 nibs to try. I think these are definitely good for beginners and maybe someday I'll actually have good penmanship.
I was looking for something to add line variation and this nib delivers--smooth and easy to write with. It was also super easy to swap from my usual F nib. If you're on the fence, and you want something that gives a calligraphic look to your writing or drawing, this is it!
