Ink Sample - Lennon Tool Bar - Atmospheric Color Waterproof
Lennon Tool Bar was founded in 2014 at Tamsui, Taiwan. Initially, it started to promote arts and crafts of Indigo Dyeing, a business that flourished a century ago in Taiwan, and at the time, Taiwan exported a considerable amount of "doroai," or the raw material of colorants used in Indigo Dyeing, to the Japanese Empire. Lennon Tool Bar draws inspiration from the traditional process and the popular colors used in Indigo Dyeing.

I use fountain pens for sketching and need waterproof inks to do line and wash & urban sketch techniques with watercolor. I have about 20 different grey inks and I would say LTB Twilight is the absolute best grey color for the color of atmospheric greys. All these inks are gorgeous. The color swatches here are VERY accurate & the pigmented ink has been fine in my TWSBI's, & VERY waterproof. I never have issues on watercolor paper, no feathering, dries quickly while sketching. I also have used these inks to write letters, & w/some Japanese textured papers that tend to feather, I find these LTB inks more feather resistant than many other quality inks.
I can't say enough about Twilight. If you're a fan of Lexington grey, let me just say Twilight is without a doubt NEXT LEVEL. Its neutrality of greyness is more flexible than Lexington grey. Twilight CAN lean violet-ish, but in a way that doesn't grab you into thinking 'purple' and throw it out of context, & since it's a cooler grey, & has a warmer violet as that undertone, it has more depth of color than Lexington, which on its best days only does various neutral graphite tones.
Blue sky is a lovely baby blue color that is soft and holds its own, it isn't a weak color simply because it is soft.
Sunset Glow is Amazing- golden yellow to Saffron with red orange edges on wet applications.
If you worry about pigmented inks in $$ pens, use Koh-I-Noor Rapidograph cleaner. It's gentle and works like a charm.
I bought a sample of the twilight ink because I love inks of that color range. It dries moderately fast on notebook and normal printer paper. It writes smoothly and didn’t clump at all. It didn’t bleed through any paper or the stationary I wrote a letter with it with. I definitely recommend this ink if you like that grey almost purple/indigo tone.
