LAMY 2000 Fountain Pen - Black. Designed in 1966, the LAMY 2000 Fountain Pen is commonly known as LAMY's flagship fountain pen. It is made of Makrolon (a black fiberglass) and has brushed stainless steel accents along the grip and pen clip. It has a platinum-coated 14kt gold hooded nib. The LAMY 2000 is a piston-filled fountain pen with a large ink capacity. Above the grip, ink windows run around the barrel of the pen and become transparent when ink levels are low enough in order to notify the pen user when they are almost out of ink in their fountain pen. The pen is lightweight with the bulk of the weight towards the nib so that the weight of the pen shifts to the front for writers' ease and comfort. A spring-loaded pen clip on the cap allows you to easily clip the pen to your shirt pocket, backpack pocket or notebook. The LAMY 2000's design is understated and classic with its smooth barrel, subtle branding, and almost invisible seams.

Father Francis Easy to clean, smooth gold nib, durable body, fun ink window, affordable, German engineering, if its so good then why isn't it in more collections? Simple, because it's not very pretty. The fact that it's not as pretty as a custom 823, Montblanc, visconti homosapien, namiki, is the the only reason it's not being talked about more, but I like it though. It's got a cool bladerunner 2049 with Tron uprising type of vibe. Plus the stainless steel design and black makrolon give it a "raining fresh water onto a shinto shrine Japanese " type of vibe. The black makrolon reminds me of the grey stone steps of a Japanese shrine during a rainy day, and the stainless steel reminds me of Japanese samurai swords. Kewl.
