This is a warm blue ink with a red sheen and cool pearl that can be used with both dip and internally filling pens in Medium and Broad sizes to prevent clogging.
About Dominant Industry:
Dominant Industry, based in Paju, Korea, makes small-batch specialty inks for dip pens. Adapting mixing and blending techniques developed for silk-screen inks, they have developed calligraphy inks with unique mirror and metallic finishes that are expressive and beautiful on paper, plastic, film, and glass. If digital CMYK colors are flat shades that are created through a subtractive process, Dominant Industry prides itself on its life-like colors that are created through an additive process, utilizing reflective and transparent pigments that incorporate natural light. Dominant Industry strives to create “bottled light,” colors that can be felt and experienced. This idea is reflected in Dominant Industry’s 4 different finishes: Hologram, Mirror, Pearl, and Standard.
I have tried this in both a stub and a medium/broad, and I would definitely advise sticking with pens with a broader nib and a good flow. I did not have any issues writing, no skips, and good lines. The pearlescence does require some extra effort to keep the ink mixed before/during filling and regularly when in use. I also found that paper quality determines the pearlescent effect significantly. While it might be pearlescent on most papers, you really need a good quality paper to get it to stand out.
I plan to try it with a dip pen sometime down the road, but I will definitely want to agitate it gently before I dip.
