This pen dates all the way back to 1994. In the 80’s Pilot came out with Hi-tecpoint, a rollerball pen series. The pens in this series featured a special mechanism that locked a tiny metal rollerball securely at the top of its needlepoint tip. Hi-Tec-C was inspired by the G Series gel pen. This pen was likely rival to Signo and combined the tip of Hi-Tecpoint with the G Series gel pen to create the much-loved Hi-Tec-C gel pen.
