Born from a desire for a glass pen that is beautiful to write with but has a casual appeal, this glass pen was brought to life in collaboration with glass artist Motoko Fujita, who trained in the glassblowing town of Lauscha in Germany. Lauscha, which is the birthplace of glass Christmas tree ornaments, is known for glass of disctinctive colors and clarity. This simple yet distinctive design has a shorter handle than a typical glass pen so that the writing experience feels closer to using a fountain or ballpoint pen. Each pen is individually handcrafted by a Lauscha glass artisan.
