Please note: this A5 Hobonichi Techo Cousin Cover does not contain the A5 planner.

This cover will comfortably fit A5 notebooks with a spine of 0.5 inches (1.27cm) or smaller. Though it has the capacity to fit spines larger than 0.5in, the cover might have a tighter fit. Add a clear Hobonichi Cover on Cover to protect this cover from wear and tear and add extra space for storing photos, stickers, and postcards.

This cover features a botanical illustration of “Koshinso” by botanist Dr. Tomitaro Makino in 1901. This plant was painted in sumi ink and watercolor, and it is a perennial insectivorous plant that grows on wet rocks of the mountains in the north of the Kanto region of Japan. It was given its Japanese name after being discovered in Mt. Koshin in Tochigi Prefecture. For the Hobonichi techo cover, a lovely blooming Koshinso flower was precisely printed on an ecru colored cotton fabric.

The botanical illustration drawn over 120 years ago on June 30, 1901, delicately depicts the light purple flowers arranged horizontally and the stems that grow out from the flowers and warp back. The background is painted in black, which is uncharacteristic Dr. Makino's botanical illustrations, and unique.
