This Weeks book features illustrations by Juzo Itami on a canvas textured material. On the front boots are lined up at the bottom, a record player places, and mysterious bird hovers in the top corner. The back features a hand twirling a fork. The '23 on the front cover and spine are also handwritten by Itami and embossed in gold. This version begins in April 2023, just in time for the beginning of the Japanese school year.

The name mon oncle is French for “my uncle.” This is the name of a magazine Itami was the editor-in-chief for, and the phrase meant a lot to him. The illustrations on the mon oncle Weeks cover were all precious belongings of Itami. They all appeared as illustrations in his 1965 essay “Diary of Boredom in Europe.”

This weekly-edition Hobonichi Techo is a compact book that’s easy to carry everywhere. The book is slim and roughly the size of a long wallet, making it easy to fit into a bag or suit pocket. The main layout of the book consists of a weekly calendar on the left page and blank graph paper on the right page. Each weekly spread also contains the characteristic Hobonichi quote in Japanese on the bottom of the page. Although slim at first glance, the book holds 71 graph-ruled memo pages for note-taking at the end of the book. The Weeks is available with a variety of different cover designs on the book itself and does not require an additional cover purchased separately.

When you order this Hobonichi Techo Weeks, you’ll receive a clear, adhesive corner pocket you can stick anywhere you like.
