Continuing the collaborative line of the Techo cover lineup, this year introduces new artists and designs to make your planning special. As always, the covers feature a basic style with butterfly-stopper pen holders that act as a hinge, keeping your cover safely shut when you store a pen inside.
New this season, Gurunpa's Kindergarten takes a print from the beloved children's book to decorate its covers. Gurunpa leads the way on the front cover for the other animals on the back. Taking from the illustrations, the butterfly stoppers feature a painted brush-stoke design while the bookmarks are made with adorable charms of a cookie and plate.
Gurunpa’s Kindergarten is a beloved children’s book from over 50 years ago, first released in 1965. The longtime favorite book was written by Minami Nishiuchi and illustrated by Seiichi Horiuchi. The story stars Gurunpa the large elephant, who works at all kinds of places, including a shoe store, piano factory, automobile factory, and more.
Seiichi Horiuchi was active as an art director in a variety of fields, including magazine design and serialized travel journals. Gurunpa’s Kindergarten was one of the masterpieces of his work, and is the artwork featured on this techo cover.
Add a clear Hobonichi Cover on Cover to protect this cover from wear and tear and add extra space for storing photos, stickers, and postcards.
This original form of the Hobonichi Techo has been loved by many users since its introduction in 2002. Its daily pages offer plenty of space to fill despite the book’s compact A6 size. The graph paper offers an open layout for you to neatly lay out writings, clippings, and drawings.
The graph paper in the English version is slightly enlarged to 4 mm to allow users to write comfortably in any language. Timelines are simplified to a single 12 to denote noon so users can completely customize it to their own schedule (or ignore it completely), and each day is also labeled with the number of the consecutive week that year, from 1 to 52.
The Hobonichi Techo includes quotes specially chosen from its parent site, the Japanese web magazine Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shinbun. Each daily page has a quote in English.
The book contains several sections that are great for schedule management, such as a yearly calendar, monthly calendar, and yearly index page. The back of the book includes useful and informational pages, such as blank memo pages, an address book, a page for drawing out a custom graph, a list of useful links in Japanese, and more.
