Continuing the collaborative line of the Techo cover lineup, this year introduces new artists and designs to make your planning special. As always, the covers feature a basic style with butterfly-stopper pen holders that act as a hinge, keeping your cover safely shut when you store a pen inside.
New this season, Hedekmäpuu was created by Finnish artist Eri Shimatsuka to highlight the life force of trees. Her designs evoke the warm, gentle view toward nature that comes from spending everyday life amid Finland’s lush greenery. Hedelmäpuu is Finnish for “fruit tree,” and a fruit tree filled with fruits and nuts is the centerpiece of this design. The front cover graphically illustrates different fruits made to pop with the use of bright mint green, lavender purple, and peach along with dark green leaves surrounding a tree trunk and branches, all of which are accented with black line-work. The back features a more minimal display of the fruits and leaves and the bookmarks contain round green and pink charms reminiscent of tree nuts.
The illustration is printed on a canvas fabric whose natural coloring evokes the gentleness of nature.
Add a clear Hobonichi Cover on Cover to protect this cover from wear and tear and add extra space for storing photos, stickers, and postcards.
This original form of the Hobonichi Techo has been loved by many users since its introduction in 2002. Its daily pages offer plenty of space to fill despite the book’s compact A6 size. The graph paper offers an open layout for you to neatly lay out writings, clippings, and drawings.
The graph paper in the English version is slightly enlarged to 4 mm to allow users to write comfortably in any language. Timelines are simplified to a single 12 to denote noon so users can completely customize it to their own schedule (or ignore it completely), and each day is also labeled with the number of the consecutive week that year, from 1 to 52.
The Hobonichi Techo includes quotes specially chosen from its parent site, the Japanese web magazine Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shinbun. Each daily page has a quote in English.
The book contains several sections that are great for schedule management, such as a yearly calendar, monthly calendar, and yearly index page. The back of the book includes useful and informational pages, such as blank memo pages, an address book, a page for drawing out a custom graph, a list of useful links in Japanese, and more.
