Sailor 1911 Fountain Pens – Pen of the Year 2021
Sailor North America's first North American exclusive has just been announced. They are currently on the way to us, and as the name suggests, they will be limited only for 2021. They are featured with translucent dark red body with glitter and rhodium trim. The nib is bi-color with 14k and 21k gold on 1911 Standard and 1911 Large respectively. In 2020, Sailor has gone through a management change, and production changes have been reflected in reduction of available models in Japan.
This new pen shows a new pricing update that will only be reflected going forward with limited production pens. The pricing for the regular production pens such as regular editions made in Japan will not be affected at all. The effects are on all limited/smaller productions such as NA and store exclusive colors released from now. Sailor NA has recently announced Sailor 1911 Anchor Gray, 1911 Key Lime, and Professional Gear Graphite Lighthouse are being discontinued. For the NA pens released right before 2021, unless they are still in stock, it's likely they are going to be slowly phased out due to the price change.
